Sound Wave
Korean artist Jean Shin created this sculpture "Sound Wave" (2007) out of melted vinyl records to connote "the inevitable waves of technology that render each successive generation of recordable media obsolete." Click the pic for the full story.
It should be paired with a dude surfing the wave for new music. "Represent Noyo" being the big kahuna.

Elementary...
Rachel McAdams will star opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "Sherlock Holmes," a reimagining of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's supersleuth that Guy Ritchie is directing for Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow.
The movie, which will begin shooting next month, takes its cue from a forthcoming comic book that producer Lionel Wigram wrote as a selling tool for a new take on the classic character. The concept sees Holmes as more adventurous and less stuffy than previous screen incarnations and mines more obscure character traits.

Another track sampled by the ever-scrutinized, LV Don. Hey, they're easy to find and what can I say? The man knows how to sample.

Taking it back
Raphael Saadiq's newest album is amazing. It has a vintage Motown sound that's straight out of the 60's. His smooth, soulful grooves will have you constantly hitting that repeat button. This is what good music is.

Dreamo's Certified Heater of the Week
The new Jake One is that hot fiyyyyyah. So is this joint with De La and Doom. This was the first beat I heard that really knocked and had extreme tempo change. Too old, to rhyme? Too bad, too late.

UPDATE: The last track had 2 other tracks (tracks 2 & 4 but with different beats) thrown on at the end. Separated them and added them to the end of the album as individual tracks (renamed them as remixes). Does that make sense? It does, doesn't it?
Tomorrowland
Johnson takes trip to 'Tomorrowland'
Segment of Disneyland gets 'Pirates' treatment
After turning the theme park ride "Pirates of the Caribbean" into a blockbuster film trilogy, Disney is circling an entire segment of its theme park — Tomorrowland — as inspiration for a space movie that will star Dwayne Johnson.
The studio has set scribes Jon Lucas and Scott Moore to draft an epic-sized action adventure set in space. The film is being designed as a vehicle for Johnson, who starred for the studio in family hit "The Game Plan" and most recently completed "Race to Witch Mountain."

J & J
New album from Johnson & Jonson (Blu & Mainframe).
Haven't had the chance to listen to this properly yet but it was released by Tres and you know what we think of those guys...
We're down with Tres.
I have noticed that some of the tracks are straight off their "Powders & Oils" joint (I didn't realize that wasn't an official release).

In Rainbows (Remixes)
Found this a while ago but completely forgot about it and just rediscovered it yesterday. Love when that happens, don't you?
Amp_Live (of Zion I) remixes Radiohead's "In Rainbows", in "The Grey Album" fashion, but includes some guest emcees (Del, MC Zumbi of Zion I, Chali 2na) as well.
Production is top notch. If you're a RadioHEAD, definitely peep game on this. If you're that guy who's never listened to any of their stuff, this is still worth the listen.

EMC - Leak It Out
The good doctor posted this album a while back - stumbled across this vid today. "Don't Give Up On Us" is another great track off this album; to be played if you navigating through rough waters with your ladyfriend. In any event, EMC is nice. This is real hip hop.

What kind of music?

Thought I'd drop this before I head out for some debauchery and general mischief. It is a celebration after all.
This is the album that you've been waiting for but didn't know you were waiting. I will admit... it's not as good as I wanted it to be, knowing what this guy is capable of. But it's definitely worth checking out.
The track with Brother Ali is off the hook.

UPDATE: This seems to be a clean version (censorship is good for one thing: nothing). Retail isn't supposed to drop til October 7 so stay tuned. I'll post it as soon as it's available.
UPDATE: I've had the to chance to sit down and give this a good listen. I take back what I said above. This is definitely as good as I wanted it to be. This album is DOPE. Absolutely ridiculous. Get this now.
Calling all emcees...
This man produces fire. Who doesn't want Reflection Eternal 2?!?
This track is off his latest release (that was a while ago... he's due for another soon, isn't he?) and is just screaming for some vocals (hint).
