T-Dot stand up!
K-Os - 4,3,2,1
K-os - Yes (?)
K'naan - Troubadour (Feb 24th)
Drake - So Far Gone (already released mixtape which is more like an album)
Is it me, or does Toronto have three of the most original and anticipated artists out there in hip hop land? And none of them can be boxed in as straight "hip hop". Drake had over 76,000 downloads of his mixtape in the first 6 hours of release. Crazy.

That raw fiyah
Click above for full image
It's Friday night and I'm no where near anywhere. It's all good though cause in a few days I'll be soaking up the sun in Miami (North/South Beach). But until then, let's keep this blog rollin with goodness.
It's no secret that I'm down with Buff1. While we patiently await for him to drop his next joint, here are the instrumentals from his most recent outing to help tie you (me) over. Production comes mostly from Vaughan T and 14KT with a little Haircut and Black Milk sprinkled in there.

Dreamo's Certified Heater of the Week
Its been a long time, shouldn't left you, without a certified heater to bless you. Tdot's own, 9th Uno, is a beast. Beats by Marco Polo, Moss and Metic - hands down 3 of the dots finest. This is a slice of home for those far from it and a reason to believe in the city for those who are living in it. "Rize Up" is the official wake up song and "Sleep" is just bonkers. Bang this ish retarded.

"It's legal in Iceland"
How can you tell that I have nothing better to do? Easy. Keep reading.
Cake Wrecks is a blog that reports on "when professional cakes go horribly, hilariously wrong". You'll find anything from misspellings to unintended sexual iconography to weird fetishes.

How's your car game?
Click above for more pics and details
In the market for a new ride? Consider this: €406,000 (about $525k USD by today's rates) gets you a Maybach 57 Zeppelin, while the larger 62 commands a €473,200 ($612k) sum. In exchange, you get some unique 20" dark chrome rims, the requisite special badges, dark red tail lights, vertical exhaust outlets, special leather upholstery ("California beige" with "Stromboli black" stitching), piano lacquer trim, a set of silver champagne flutes and a plastic fragrance dispenser.

Did someone say silver champagne flutes and a plastic fragrance dispenser? I'll take three. Cause ya know, what if I lose or break the first set of silver champagne flutes?

Never too late
Although this may be quite a bit late, as the title suggests, it's never too late. I wanted to do a "2008 favs" posting back in the beginning of January but as anyone who actually follows this blog knows, I've been on the other side of the world.
So, as to not waste anymore time than the paragraph above just did (and of course, as always, in no particular order)...
- Elzhi - The Preface
- Black Milk - Tronic
- Pacewon & Mr. Green - The Only Color That Matters Is Green
- Estelle - Shine
- Keane - Perfect Symmetry
- MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
- Jake One - White Van Music
- Kardinal Offishall - Not 4 Sale
- Buff1 - There's Only One
- Tokyo Police Club - Elephant Shell
Other notables (these are all posted somewhere here):
- Common Market - Tobacco Road
- Duffy - Rockferry
- eMC - The Show
- Jazz Liberatorz - Clin d'oeil
- Now On - Tomorrow Already
- Raphael Saadiq - The Way I See It
- DJ K.O. - Picture This...

R.I.P. J Dilla
3 years ago today, we lost the best producer ever. His music was and continues to be the soundtrack to our lives. Elzhi, Black Milk and Guilty Simpson reflect and rejoice in Dilla's legacy in the vid above. Hands down best quote in the vid is Buff1: "if you make beats and you don't acknowledge Dilla's influence on you, then, you're pretty much frontin on your life".

How could I forget...
In the mood for some emo (or at least what I like to call emo)? Well you're on this blog so you don't really have a choice. Or do you? This is another album that I meant to post a while back but never got around to.
Here is a band that treats dizzy cross-eyed awe and a vast bounding sense of sonic weightlessness as their yardstick, jostling to surpass themselves on a track-by-track basis and aiming for the musical equivalent of performing somersaults in tye-dye t-shirts off the rings of Jupiter. They seemingly submit this debut album as an application to acquire and even supersede The Flaming Lips' previously uncontested mantle as spiritual leaders of over-sized Technicolor psychedelic-indie with a soul, weird but not so weird that swelling crowds and even flirtations with the charts aren't a foregone conclusion. Thrillingly eclectic, endlessly colourful and never predictable. It's all a bit ridiculous, but indeed spectacularly so.Wow, that was a pretty damn good review. Noteworthy tracks:

Imported like a...
Everytime I go somewhere warm and return to this unbearable Canadian winter I ask myself, "why did I come back?"
This remix album will take you to a place that's just like sippin' an ice cold Red Stripe on a hot summer day. Refreshing. I can taste it already.

How's your chair game?
No office is complete without a chair made from an authentic exotic sports car like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche, or Lotus. Made from refurbished seats, taken straight out of the cars, price will depend on the condition of the seat. Of course, ballin' ain't easy. You're looking at about $5,000 for a Porsche 997 seat and around $15,000 for a Lambo LP640 Murc. Depending on the model, rear storage pocket included!
I'll take two. One to put my feet up! Available from RaceChairs.

What did I miss?
Didn't really see anything notable come out since I've been gone. Did I miss anything? Let it be known! Of note: Kardi's 'Dangerous' is huuuuuge in South East Asia. Heard it non-stop everywhere I went. Represent The Dot!
Here's a little something fairly recent (a couple of years old is still fairly recent, no?) from The Dutch Master. Definitely feeling his sound. So full and soulful.

On The Look Out
It's usually a good thing when you see production on an album from Illmind, Jake One, M-Phazes, Analogic, 9th Wonder & Oddisee. This is no exception. Don't really know who this guys is (maybe someone can shed some light onto the situation) but this is a dope mixtape!

We never grew up, we just got taller
Been a lack of good music on here lately. And that's why you come here, isn't it?
We all know that Elzhi is beast on the mic. Here's a joint featuring the man himself on Evidence's recently released The Layover.

What Could Have Been...
It's been a while between posts here. We've all been extremely busy! It's almost that time of the year when we start looking back at the past 12 months / 52 weeks / 365 days and reflect upon all the great music that has been released. There has been a lot!
But until then, let's think about what could have been. Here's a list of a few artists who gave us a taste but left us wanting more or who's lives were ended short by whatever means. In no particular order (although Freud may have something to say about that):
- Binary Star
- J Dilla
- Talib / Hi-Tek
- Black Star
- The Fugees
Leave a comment and tell us your wish list!
Happy Holidays ALL!

Dreamo's Certified Heater of the Week
We have multiple heaters this week courtesy of honourary noyoite, DJ Edit One aka Eno Tide. He's already on volume 11 of his Tables of Content sessions, if you slept on any of the first 10 volumes, you know what to do this weekend. He brings much joy to the ears and minds of the Tdot collective. Click the tables for the earfood and peep his site http://www.djeditone.com/ - the "Infectious Rhythm" and "Jyrate and Jiggle" mixes are also certified heaters.
